Welcome to Brisbane – Brissy!
Welcome to my travel blog, about Brisbane!
Brisbane has many interesting and cool things to visit. I started my tour in the rainforest. There I learned many new things about flora and fauna. Also I saw Glow worm caves in the Tamborine Mountain. You wouldn't believe how many of them there were. The whole cave was full of light.

Another cool activity in the rainforest, is the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk. There you can watch wild animals in their natural area. After my trip to the rainforest, I took a train to the harbor. Because the next step on my agenda was a trip to Moreton Island. I had the opportunity to paddle in a transparent kayak and observe the underwater world from above. I couldn't let this opportunity pass me by. From above I saw many different animals, like turtles or different types of fish.
After this experience, I was really hungry. So I decided, to make a pause at the restaurant Frankie's Smokehouse. There I ate BBQ, what is typical of Australian cuisine. I would definitely recommend that. After my lunch, I decided to go for a digestive walk along the Brisbane River. Part of the path led through a park, which also contains a Nepalese pagoda.

I decided to continue my tour at the Paddington. There I went shopping in the Australian shops. Another cool idea for a daytrip, is a visit to the Australia Zoo. There are many exotic animals, like crocodiles.
About Brisbane
Brisbane is located on the east coast of Australia in the southeast part of the state of Queensland and is the third largest city in the country. It has an area of 15,842 km² and ca. 2.7 million inhabitants. The Lord Mayor of Brisbane is Adrian Schrinner since April 8, 2019, but it was founded in 1824.
Brisbane is known for its vibrant cultural scene, stunning riverside views, and warm subtropical climate. Aside from that, Brisbane's Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Australia Zoo are particularly famous, as well as its markets and kayaking opportunities along the Brisbane River. The Brisbane River flows right through the city. The city's warm, sunny weather makes it a favorite destination for visitors, and its unique underground opera house and 1982 Commonwealth Games are also notable highlights.

Weather & Climate
I was really surprised by the weather. It can reach up to 30 degrees. On average in winter between 20 and 21 degrees. Snow is rare in Brisbane. It is raining lightly. The coldest months are June and July.
Fun Facts
Did you know that Brisbane is called "Brissy" and the inhabitants are called "Brisbanites"? That sounds like a vibe! Plus, Brisbane residents love to do BBQ outside when the weather is nice, which is really convenient because Brisbane usually has good weather, with over 200 days of sunshine a year. That makes Brisbane the sunniest capital city in Australia.
Also very interesting is that Brisbane has the first koala sanctuary. This is probably because koalas, along with kangaroos, are the most popular and well-known animals in Australia.
Farewell
After a few unforgettable days in Brisbane, it's hard for me to say goodbye. I'm taking home not only many photos, but also wonderful memories. This city has shown me that big city flair and serenity can perfectly harmonize. Brisbane – you were more than just a destination, you were a feeling. And I already know: I'll be back.
